Young people need to be prepared for a world that is changing rapidly.
Many of the jobs they will do when they leave school or college do not yet exist and they will probably have several jobs during their lifetime – some young people will also have portfolio type careers. To thrive in this kind of environment, and be successful, they need to have the skills and attitudes to cope with an unpredictable future and to be able to embrace setbacks and disappointments in a positive way.
This means that young people, more than ever, need to have a ‘CAN DO’ attitude, be resilient and prepared to change direction quickly if necessary and continue to learn throughout their lives.
